Auteurs :

Divakar Gupta, MD is a board certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataracts. Duke University School of Medicine, Duke Eye Center, Durham, NC, USA. He performs both traditional glaucoma surgery such as trabeculectomy and glaucoma tube shunts, as well as cutting-edge Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS).

He is trained in the latest surgical techniques of cataract and laser-assisted cataract surgery.  Dr. Gupta also offers premium intraocular lenses for cataract surgery patients interested in astigmatic correction and/or presbyopia correction.

He has a clinical and research interest in early diagnosis of glaucoma and improving treatment outcomes. His research focuses on novel ways to use optical imaging and technology to identify and manage glaucoma.  Dr. Gupta also spends time teaching and lecturing trainees and eye professionals at the Duke Eye Center and in the community.   

Leon W. Herdon Jr
: Professor of Ophthalmology Chief, Glaucoma Ophthalmology, Duke University School of Medicine, Duke Eye Center, Durham, NC, USA.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He is on the editorial board of Glaucoma Today. He is an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been involved in the Leadership Development Program of the AAO. He has authored numerous papers, lectured nationally and internationally, and participated in several research projects related to glaucoma. He currently serves as Chief of the Glaucoma Division at the Duke University Eye Center where he has trained 79 clinical fellows.

Kelly Walton Muir : Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Duke University School of Medicine, Duke Eye Center, Durham, NC, USA. She specializes in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, cataracts and general eye disease. Her research focuses on optimizing the quality of care that glaucoma patients receive by improving patient education materials, studying patient and physician communication, and developing a novel eye drop bottle that makes it easier for patients to administer their glaucoma drops.

Her research has been funded by the American Glaucoma Society, the National Eye Institute, and the Veterans Health Administration. Dr. Muir also teaches medical students, residents, and fellows about glaucoma and other ophthalmologic conditions. Dr. Muir is fellowship-trained, board-certified and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Glaucoma Society.
